Hi. Well I do not usually like to talk about myself out of necessity, ah-hem, here goes. I am a native Texan; I live and work full time in Houston. I own and ride my own motorcycle. I love to go hiking when I can. My most recent hike was in the Davis Mountains (near Balmorhea TX) in April.
I am a decent cook, I am good with plants, I still do my own yard work, I have pets, and I rescue animals (domestic and wildlife) when the opportunity presents itself.
I am easy going, quick with a smile, like to make people laugh, old enough to know not to sweat the small stuff, honest as the day is long, polite, and courteous. I am a private person, sentimental, a little bit of a hopeless romantic, adventurous, like to travel (m/c or vehicle, would not fly in these times), and love our state and national parks.
I am patriotic. I uphold the Constitution of the United States and all the amendments including the 2nd. I respect and honor our Veterans. I still stand up and put my hand over my heart when saying the Pledge of Allegiance and when the National Anthem is sung.
I like to read, I do not watch mainstream TV, I keep up with current events via internet news outlets. I will watch a movie from time to time.
I do not attend church and do not believe attending church is a requirement (in fact, maybe even a detriment) to being right with God. I do believe in God and the Bible and that Jesus was resurrected. I am starting to wonder if I might see the 2nd coming of Christ in my lifetime...
I am ready to retire and move out of the city. My original plan was to work until full retirement (2023) but with the current state-of-affairs I have entertained the idea of selling my house this year and moving to a rural location. I think being self-sufficient is going to become increasingly important as we go into 2021.
I am looking for a companion, a friend, a confidant, someone I can trust with my life with and vice versa. I am not afraid of hard work or hardships. I am ready to get settled somewhere to live out my life peacefully and to pretend like this is the America we grew up in.
